Job description

Job Summary:
Sabre Systems, LLC is a company providing innovative technological solutions for various sectors including the Department of Defense. They are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to design, deploy, and maintain Software Development Environments while ensuring cyber security compliance and system performance.
Responsibilities:
• Operating system maintenance
• Cyber security updates and scans
• Software license management
• System upgrades (could be hardware or software)
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems in classified and controlled unclassified environments
• Troubleshoot systems primarily in a Linux environment and secondarily in a Windows environment.
• Install, configure, and manage the Linux operating systems and related tool sets supporting the software engineers in various PMA-264 labs.
• Modernize older infrastructure with support from a seasoned organization with the ability to advise. Will requires implementing secure on prem cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, and continuous monitoring compliant with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Zero Trust architecture
• Keeping servers "compliant" per NAVAIR and DISA policies to include backup and disaster recovery requirements, anti-virus protection, and implementing system security.
• Maintain backup plans and rotation cycles.
• Producing documentation that details and describes the systems, procedures, events, and any associated processes.
• Building new infrastructure servers.
• Maintaining, tuning, and patching systems for optimum performance and security. Migrating or upgrading systems, where applicable.
• Participating in weekly routine maintenance tasks.
• Responding to system failures promptly to bring applications back online.
• Conducting various quarterly and annual Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and scans on systems in labs
Qualifications:
Required:
• 3-7 years of practical experience executing tasks such as configuring hardware (e.g., servers and switches)
• Upgrading and repairing computer systems (primarily Linux based operating systems)
• Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
• Implementing security measures and basic testing. RMF compliancy experience required (STIGS/scans/etc.)
• Experience with Linux Server to include the build, maintenance, and troubleshooting, as well as addressing, service requests, routine server maintenance (firmware, failures, hardening, etc.), and server consolidation
• Experience with Windows OS administration
• Critical thinking skills and the ability to 'think-outside-the-box' to solve complex technical issues is essential.
• Enthusiastic about learning and trying new things.
• Candidate must be willing and able to acquire a Top Secret Clearance
• Candidate must be willing to obtain a Privileged Access Agreement
Preferred:
• Associates or Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in the Computer Science/Information Technology discipline (degrees in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, network engineering, information systems, cyber security, or management of information systems technology)
• Experience in DoD Information Assurance/Cyber policy and procedures to include hardening of systems, implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and scanning desired.
• Experience with virtualization of systems and VMware
• Currently certified in one or more of the following: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, Cisco CCNP
