MANTECH seeks a career and customer-oriented Deployable Programmer Lead to join our team in one of the following locations: Alexandria, VA, Philadelphia, PA or Chandler, AZ. This is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week.
In this leadership role, you will manage hands-on radio programming deployments and lead the coordination of critical software updates for tactical communications equipment. Your focus will be on standardizing technical procedures and maintaining consistent operational compliance across all field locations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Lead Field Operations: Coordinate directly with TACCOM Regional Program Managers to establish, manage, and execute comprehensive field reprogramming efforts for APX8500 and APX8000 radios
  • Maintain Operational Standards: Diligently align all field activities and programming workflows with established government practices and agency standards
  • Deploy to the Field: Actively travel up to 25% to various field environments to execute regular, hands-on radio programming efforts and ensure mission readiness
  • Support Advanced Systems: Provide critical technical support and execution for cutting-edge APX Next programming updates as required
  • Standardize Procedures: Draft robust technical processes, standard operating procedures, and documentation to continually enhance team efficiency and deployment accuracy

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network/Telecommunications Engineering or a related discipline AND 9+ years of experience, OR Doctorate and 4+ years of experience, OR Associate and 11+ years of experience, OR High School diploma/GED and 13+ years of experience
  • Professional Experience: Proven track record working as a Network & Systems Administrator Senior or an IT Systems Engineer
  • Hardware Expertise: Demonstrated hands-on experience establishing field reprogramming initiatives and providing critical software updates specifically for Motorola radios
  • Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and oversee teams to ensure successful project delivery and operational excellence

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Documentation Skills: Advanced experience drafting precise technical processes and clear operational procedures
  • Framework Familiarity: Prior experience executing workflows within federal operational practices and compliance guidelines

Security Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and must be able to obtain and maintain agency suitability prior to starting this position
  • Position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

Physical Requirements:
  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers via email, phone, and/or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations
