Job Summary

The Senior Technical Product Owner will collaborate with Product Managers or the enablement team to define a clear tactical vision for product development or implementation. This role will focus on end-user experience and maintain clarity for the team to ensure successful delivery or client implementation of new and existing digital capabilities. Additionally, this role will align to a delivery team and drive the feature backlog. Lastly, this role may drive BAU support post enablement, including analysis on reported production issues, influencing correction, and optimizing processes in addressing changes to in-market requirement changes.


Essential Job Functions

  • Influence the technical roadmap by identifying new features and adding to the backlog. Stay updated with industry developments, analyze market data, and use insights for technical decisions. Assist in the break down initiatives into Epics and support Feature creation sessions. Identify and lead optimization opportunities, increasing initiative throughput. - (30%)
  • Prioritize and maintain product backlog. Lead multiple agile teams while managing relationships with key stakeholders and leadership. Present product updates, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with the overall business strategy. - (30%)
  • Manage activities for requirements documentation, risk identification, and mitigation. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product development, enablement, and/or BAU support efficiency. Streamline workflows, adopting new tools and methodologies, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. - (20%)
  • Build partnerships within the Scrum team, ensure stable and operational capabilities, and manage cross-functional team dependencies. Build partnerships across enablement and cross-functional teams, maintaining adherence to implementation timelines and standards. Continually look to optimize processes and the customer experience. - (10%)
  • Train and mentor product owners, this includes offering advice, sharing best practices and helping them develop their skillsand knowledge. Participate in recruitment and associate engagement efforts. - (10%)


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum master, project manager, business/systems/QA analyst, or software engineer.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technology field and with agile and scrum principles.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in information technology or business analysis or related field of study or equivalent, relevant work experience
  • Related field certifications
  • 7+ years of experience in product management, business analysis, information technology, financial services, payment, online and mobile platforms, or digital and tech platforms.

$97,900.00 - $177,400.00

The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.


You must be work authorized in the United States on a full time basis without the need for any sponsorship now or in the future from any employer or organization. The Company cannot offer employment to F-1 (student) visa holders.

Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial's 401(k) plan.

All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates (except those located in Illinois) receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time ("PSST") upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois associates receive 40 hours of Illinois PSST upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year and 40 hours of Illinois Paid Leave upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois Paid Leave must be used before associates in Illinois will be approved to take FTO.

Hired associates will be able to elect the purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
