The Immunization Clinician is a Registered Nurse and/or a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse within Franciscan who seeks to protect the community from vaccine-preventable diseases by providing immunization services to the general public. The nurse assesses the immunization status of clients, administers vaccines, and educates clients and caregivers about immunizations.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Draw the vaccine according to manufacturer’s instructions, and administer to the patient using safe and proper techniques and a system of multiple checks.
  • Document patient immunization, including, but not limited to, immunization type, date, and refusal of vaccination.
  • Provide patient care and perform emergency response duties, if necessary, including epinephrine administration during an anaphylactic reaction.
