Our services include Pediatric Care, Adult Care, Dental Care, Behavioral Health, Case Management, Prenatal & Women’s Health, Substance Abuse Treatment, HIV/AIDS testing and treatment, Health Education, Outreach and WIC services. We're looking for someone to join our team as an Associate Director of Dental Providers: Provides direct patient care while supporting clinical oversight, provider mentorship, and continuous quality improvement.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides comprehensive dental care, including diagnostic, preventive, emergency, restorative, periodontal maintenance, prosthetic, and oral surgery services.
  • Delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with clinical standards and organizational protocols.
  • Completes accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Manages assigned work queues in a timely manner, ensuring appropriate follow‑up and continuity of care.
  • Assists in developing, implementing, and monitoring strategic plans aligned with the community needs and organizational goals.
  • Attends and actively participates in all meetings (e.g., department meetings, program meetings, employee staff meetings) and other internal and external activities as assigned.
  • Assists in arranging and conducting regular meetings for dental providers.
  • Attends workshops/seminars as necessary to increase skills and knowledge to provide effective care, treatment, and/or leadership.
  • Participates in community outreach activities.
  • Assists in assuring compliance with related state licensing requirements, special clinical initiatives, and grant guidelines.
  • Assists in recruitment of dental staff.
  • Prepares recommendations for hiring, and termination for the review and approval of the CMO and CEO.
  • Completes staff evaluations timely and recommends merit increases.
  • Serves as a clinical reviewer for all dental evaluations when needed.
  • Assists with scheduling clinical assignments, rotations, on‑call, etc.
  • Assists in instituting and managing CME requests for dental staff.
  • Participate in the development of compliance and risk management protocols.
  • Assist in the supervision of the development, implementation, and operation of a quality assurance program as it related to patient care.
  • Advocate for the health center and serve as liaison to local and state professional societies, as well as to health officials, organizations, and health training institutions, as appropriate.
  • Supports the overall needs of the health center by working flexible or extended hours when necessary.
  • Works with dental providers to ensure productivity expectations are met and/or succeeded.
  • Acts on behalf of the Dental Director in their absence as assigned.
  • Assist in the oversight and support of the Dental Residency program.
  • Must travel for site visits at all sites in the system to mentor, evaluate & train providers.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited dental school.
  • Must have a dental license to practice in California.
  • Experience in working or desire to work in rural community setting with many ethnic groups.
  • Ability to converse with Spanish‑speaking patients desirable.
  • Must be able to work a full‑time schedule.
  • Must be able to pass all pre‑employment screening (background check, drug tests, and references).
  • Must be able to comply with organizational behavioral standards.
