Job description

Position Summary

As an integral member of the Valley Health System Legal Affairs Department, the Paralegal will be responsible for supporting the workflow and process for various legal, contracting, corporate governance, and litigation initiatives within the organization. In addition, the Paralegal role is responsible for the review and development of policies and procedures and for the day-to-day management and maintenance of contracts utilizing our iContracts contract management system. The ideal candidate will be self-directed, comfortable with client interaction, and proactive in their approach. We encourage thoughtfulness in presenting new ideas and suggestions for process improvement in order to gain efficiency. We seek someone who shares the mindset and passion for excellence. This role works in collaboration with and reports to the General Counsel.

Education

Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies, Political Science or related field. Certification from the National Legal Assistants Association as a Certified Legal Assistant preferred.

Experience

At least 3 years in a law office, risk management office, medical practice business office or similar business. General knowledge of the legal system required.

Skills

Medical terminology and a basic understanding of common medical conditions required. Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills required. Excellent written, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills required.
