This job is responsible for building and leading a team to deliver technology products and services that meet business outcomes. Overview:
The Senior Engineering Manager - Patch & Repave Platform will lead the design, architecture, and delivery of a new enterprise solution that enables automated patching of deployed compute infrastructure and repaving of strategic immutable container and VM offerings. This role builds and leads a high-performing engineering team responsible for delivering a secure, scalable, policy-driven platform that modernizes patching practices, reduces vulnerability exposure, and improves reliability through immutable infrastructure patterns.
This is a critical leadership role at the intersection of platform engineering, security, SRE/operations, and developer experience, requiring strong execution, technical depth, and stakeholder alignment across a complex enterprise environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Builds and manages teams by performing financial activities to inform workforce strategy and hiring practices, setting and tracking maturity and quality objectives, and training employees/teams to address feedback and achieve quality and performance objectives
  • Facilitates performance and career development of employees/teams through performance reviews, coaching, and creating development plans that are needed to build competencies and skills
  • Manages solution delivery and application performance in production (app health, resiliency, performance, security, enterprise data management standards, audit exams and reviews), ensuring all relevant risk, financial, and compliance policies are met
  • Manages relationships with business and technology partners and leads and creates followership in Communities of Practice in the organization
  • Contributes to the technology strategy for their technical domain
  • Creates an inclusive and healthy working environment and helps to resolve organizational impediments/blockers
  • Ensures that execution is aligned with product strategy by working with product management and other stakeholders

Required Qualifications:
  • 8-12+ years in software/platform engineering with 8+ years leading engineering teams (hiring, performance, delivery accountability)
  • Proven track record delivering enterprise-scale platforms (internal developer platforms, infra automation, lifecycle management systems)
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture and distributed systems fundamentals (reliability, scalability, fault tolerance)
  • Demonstrated experience with CI/CD, release engineering, and automated quality gates (test automation, progressive delivery patterns)
  • Working knowledge of immutable infrastructure concepts (golden images, artifact promotion, replace vs. mutate) and/or platform lifecycle automation
  • Hands-on familiarity with modern infrastructure ecosystems:
  • Containers/Kubernetes and/or VM platforms
  • Technologies:
    • React/Angular - Java Core - MongoDB/REDIS
  • Infrastructure as Code and configuration management approaches
  • Observability (metrics/logs/tracing) and operational tooling
  • Strong collaboration skills across Security, SRE, Infrastructure, and Application stakeholders; ability to align diverse requirements into a coherent roadmap
  • Excellent communication-can translate between executive outcomes, product requirements, and engineering delivery

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience building patch orchestration systems, vulnerability remediation automation, or compliance reporting platforms
  • Experience operating platforms with SLOs and partnering with SRE on operational readiness and on-call rotations
  • Familiarity with:
  • Image pipelines (Packer-like approaches), artifact registries, and supply-chain security patterns
  • Progressive delivery tooling and safe rollout strategies (rings/canaries/blue-green)
  • Experience with hybrid/on-prem environments in addition to public cloud
  • Familiarity with event-driven architecture (pub/sub), streaming, or change-data-capture patterns for maintaining metadata freshness.
  • Experience with UX-heavy internal products and partnering with design teams to deliver polished workflow experiences.
  • Strong background in platform security and compliance automation (audit trails, policy-as-code concepts, evidence generation).
