Job description

We are looking for an Associate Quality Assurance Analyst to join our growing engineering team. The major accountability of this position involves being a key member of the development team ensuring quality assurance of software deliverables within release schedules through the writing of test conditions/cases, test plans, the utilization of test and reporting tools.    

This position will work directly with product managers to understand product concept, release goals and critical user flows. Responsibility includes prompt communication of defects and problems, project status, as well as concerns and issues to scrum teams and manager. 

What you’ll be doing:  

  • Learning the Total Expert platform and quality assurance best practices
  • Assist in test planning and estimations 
  • Create and execute manual test cases
  • Create and review test plans and test cases
  • Reproduce and clearly document all issues found during verification and validation 
  • Clearly document validation and verification results
  • Maintain and review defect backlog and assist in prioritization of efforts 
  • Conduct root-cause analysis for critical defects released to our customers or as needed to improve processes
  • Understanding the user experience and the ability to fully test its quality across multiple browsers and devices 
  • Work with the team to plan, develop, and execute software tests that cover smoke testing, feature testing, API testing, and post-release validation
  • Investigate issues using server logs, browser developer tools, and other resources and tools available

What we are looking for:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience 
  • General understanding of quality assurance techniques with the ability to apply
  • General understanding of testing approaches within Scrum agile software development environment
  • General understanding of functional, regression, negative, system level, API and user acceptance testing 
  • General ability of how to break work down into small pieces in a continuous delivery environment
  • General ability to turn business requirements into test plan/cases  
  • Able to explain technical problems to non-technical people
  • General understanding of SQL proficiency 
  • Passionate about testing 
  • Must have an innovative outlook and a desire to seek new and more effective ways of testing 
  • Ability to work and produce consistent results independently and in group settings

Compensation/Benefits: The anticipated base salary range for this role is $60,000 - $70,000 annually. Final total compensation offered is dependent upon the selected individual's qualifications and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on company performance and other factors. As an employee of the company, you will be eligible to participate in the Employee Stock Option Plan.
