Job description

Ramaker is looking for a Structural Engineer who can pair sound technical judgment with strong collaboration to support commercial and hospitality projects from concept through construction.
Most of Ramaker's employee-owners work remotely from their homes, but have the option to work from our Madison, WI office if they prefer an onsite or hybrid work environment. For the right candidate, we would consider candidates outside of the Madison area.

Your Day to Day as a Structural Engineer
In this role, you will develop structural design loads and perform calculations for key building components, then translate that work into accurate, code-compliant construction documents that are fully coordinated with architects and MEP partners. You'll help move projects from design development through construction administration, support hospitality work with brand-specific requirements, review shop drawings for conformance, and contribute to the quality, efficiency, and long-term success of Ramaker's A&E work. Your expertise will also help grow others through mentoring and knowledge-sharing.
What Matters Most
We're looking for someone with a bachelor's degree in civil (with strong emphasis in structural) or structural engineering and solid experience designing commercial building structures. The right candidate brings strong working knowledge of applicable codes, structural analysis and drafting software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Excel, and RISA, and can manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and clear communication. A PE or SE license is not required for this role, but a genuine interest in working toward licensure is important.
