Role Summary:

The Business Development Associate plays a critical role in supporting GridBeyond's commercial growth by generating qualified sales opportunities, managing CRM processes, and developing commercial revenue models. This role works closely with Business Development Managers (BDMs) to increase pipeline velocity, improve sales execution, and provide data-driven financial insights that support customer proposals.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Outbound Prospecting (40%)

  • Execute outbound prospecting campaigns using Sales loft to generate qualified meetings for the Business Development team.
  • Research and identify target accounts across key market segments including commercial & industrial customers, developers, utilities, and energy asset owners.
  • Develop personalized outreach sequences across email, phone, and LinkedIn.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound prospects and schedule meetings for Business Development Managers.
  • Track campaign performance and continuously optimize outreach effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate prospect data within Salesforce.

Salesforce Opportunity & Account Management (35%)

  • Support two Business Development Managers with day-to-day Salesforce administration.
  • Create and maintain opportunity records, account information, contacts, and activities.
  • Ensure pipeline data is accurate, complete, and up to date.
  • Assist with forecasting, pipeline reporting, and opportunity tracking.
  • Coordinate follow-up activities and ensure sales processes are executed consistently.
  • Prepare account summaries and briefing materials for customer meetings.


Commercial Revenue Modelling (25%)

  • Develop customer-specific revenue models using GridBeyond's internal commercial modelling tools.
  • Work with Business Development Managers to evaluate customer value propositions and project economics.
  • Prepare financial analyses to support proposals and customer presentations.
  • Validate modelling assumptions using market data and internal benchmarks.
  • Assist in refining commercial models and identifying optimization opportunities.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Energy Management, or a related discipline.
  • 1-3 years of experience in business development, sales operations, commercial analysis, or the energy industry.
  • Experience using Salesforce CRM.
  • Experience with sales engagement platforms such as Salesloft or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills with the ability to interpret financial models.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
