Job description

Associate Product Owner

The Associate Product Owner supports the Product Owner in executing product initiatives and delivering value to customers. This role focuses on backlog support, requirement definition, and cross-functional coordination, while developing product management skills and domain expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the development team to clarify requirements and gather feedback on work in progress
  • Supports the Product Owner in backlog refinement and prioritization activities
  • Writes and reviews user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases
  • Assists in coordinating with stakeholders to gather requirements and communicate updates
  • Participates in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Helps track sprint progress, identify blockers, and escalate risks or issues as needed
  • Supports validation and testing efforts to ensure requirements are met
  • Documents product requirements, decisions, and updates to maintain alignment across teams
  • Assists in gathering and summarizing customer feedback and product performance insights
  • Conducts research on market trends, customer needs, and competitor products to support product decisions
  • Stays current on relevant tools, technologies, and Agile best practices 
  • Performs responsibilities that regularly involve in-person collaboration based on business needs, with reasonable accommodations provided in accordance with applicable laws,.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 1–3 years of experience in product, business analysis, project coordination, or Agile environments
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Trello, or Asana
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Customer-focused mindset with attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to product lifecycle or software delivery
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar certification (nice to have, not required)
