Job description

Associate Product Manager

Responsible for the product lifecycle management of the Electromechanical Solutions (EMS) group product lines and categories as assigned. Responsibilities include gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Associate Product Manager role is deliberately designed as an entry point into product management. The right candidate is someone who thrives on building mastery — in their brand, their customers, and their craft — and who is motivated by a clear, structured path toward greater ownership and strategic responsibility at the Product Manager level.

Profile: Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) from a four-year college or university preferred but not required. One (1) to three (3) years of product management or customer care/technical support experience in a related technical field. Collaborative idea generator that leverages customer feedback, field reports, and sales feedback to identify new product ideas and process improvements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex ideas in an organized, well thought out, and understandable way. Tenacious, intuitive, intelligent, detail oriented, thoughtful, and innovative, both logically and creatively. Experienced presenter with proven training abilities. Foundational understanding of business and industry fundamentals — including sales channels, customer segments, product costing, gross margin, and product life cycles — with a desire to deepen that knowledge over time. Proven ability to work collaboratively with individuals and cross-functional teams to deliver shared results. Emerging ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without formal authority, with a track record of driving alignment at the project level.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Serve as the primary point of contact for the day-to-day operations of assigned product brand(s), including ownership of recurring brand meetings, action item tracking, and internal coordination across Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and Sales. Manage the foundational "blocking and tackling" activities that keep the brand running — including maintaining accurate technical documentation, managing price list updates, and ensuring product data integrity within ERP and PIM systems. Respond to sales team inquiries and technical product questions in a timely and accurate manner, serving as a reliable resource for internal stakeholders and, when appropriate, external customers. Partner with Marketing to coordinate the development, accuracy, and currency of product collateral and marketing materials for assigned brand(s). Support the development of brand strategy, product roadmaps, and multi-generational product plans under the guidance of senior team members. Assist in the preparation of market requirement documents, product proposals, and financial business cases for new product development initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and profitability targets. Support the development of sales training content and commercialization materials for new and existing products in coordination with Sales, Marketing, and the Training team. Assist in the coordination and reporting of new product beta testing and functional field trials. Conform with the organization's ISO 9001 & 14001 requirements. Travel required, up to one week per month. Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility.

Qualifications: The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

Language Ability Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals in English; ability to write routine test reports and correspondence. Presentation Skills Ability to professionally and confidently present company materials, financials, training materials, product programs, etc, to group management, peers, sales reps, and customers, in person, over the phone and/or webinars, trade shows, and the like. Computer Skills Proficiency in spreadsheets and database software; working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Outlook, OneNote, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, PowerBI and Visio preferred. Familiarity with ERP/MRP or CRM software programs a plus. Other Skills Excellent communication and organizational skills; pleasant demeanor and speaking voice when dealing with the public and fellow employees; extremely accurate in data entry; strong attention to detail. Physical Demands The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the functions of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, stoop and kneel; use hands, reach with hands and arms; communicate clearly and effectively. The employee may also occasionally be required to lift 50 pounds.
