Role Overview

As a Senior Associate Product Manager you will be at the forefront of defining what Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) looks like for our cloud-native bank. You will be responsible for the vision, strategy, and execution of the tools and processes that power our software delivery lifecycle. In a highly regulated environment, the ability to deploy code safely and efficiently is a core competitive advantage.

You will treat our internal engineering organization as your primary customer, building a seamless experience that balances developer autonomy with the rigorous security and compliance standards required of a global financial institution.

What You'll Do

  • Own the Roadmap: Define and maintain a data-driven roadmap for our CI/CD ecosystem. You will prioritize investments in automation, testing frameworks, and deployment orchestration to reduce lead time for changes.

  • Drive the Developer Experience: Conduct regular user research and feedback sessions with engineering teams to identify friction points in the delivery pipeline. Your goal is to minimize cognitive load and maximize developer productivity.

  • Be Well Managed: Partner with Risk and Compliance teams to ensure that audit requirements are met automatically, allowing developers to focus on building features.

  • Obsess on Operational Excellence: Define and track North Star metrics for the platform, including DORA metrics (Deployment Frequency, Lead Time, Change Failure Rate, and MTTR).

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the bridge between Infrastructure/SRE teams and Product. You will communicate complex technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders and align platform goals with broader business objectives.

  • Problem Solving & Insights: Leverage data to identify potential single points of failure and advocate for architectural improvements. You will stay ahead of the curve on industry trends in cloud delivery to ensure Capital One remains a leader in platform stability.

We want you if you are:

  • Intellectually Curious. You ask why, you explore, you're not afraid to blurt out your crazy idea or follow an email chain for weeks to find someone with an answer. Comfortable with ambiguity, a hunger to learn and a seeker of new challenges

  • Communicator & Influencer. You can communicate complex ideas clearly regardless of your audience. Our team knows their priorities and why they're doing what they're doing. You always can rally associates to work with you

  • Do-er. You're biased toward action, you try things and sometimes you fail. You can get around roadblocks and stay focused on your goals. You're well organized, able to multitask and able to prioritize your work

  • Passionate & Customer Focus. You care about growing others and bringing them together around what's possible. You get a thrill from the journey of building and shipping products, and you have a desire and ability to connect with our external or internal customers to fully understand their needs

  • Learner. You have an appetite to learn new things or new technologies all while exhibiting humbleness when the time comes to ask for help

  • Team Player. You enjoy working with diverse people and driving the team toward a common goal. You have the ability to put the team before yourself and establish long-lasting relationships

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience

  • At least 1 year of product management experience or at least 1 year of experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering

  • 1+ years translating business strategy or analysis into consumer facing digital products
