Job description

The Process Dev Engineering Scientific Associate will be part of a team responsible for process development and optimization, as well as characterization of cell product for ongoing and future projects.

 Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development of robust, scaled upstream or downstream production processes and methods for cell and gene therapy projects
  • Participates in aspects of technology transfer to manufacturing and CDMOs, as required
  • Supports a cross-functional team to facilitate the success of projects
  • Utilizes understanding of molecular, cell biology, and engineering techniques when troubleshooting typical problems
  • Applies basic statistical principles to guide process optimization and characterization
  • Executes and documents experiments and data analyses in support of process improvement with some supervision
  • Supports technical reports, regulatory filings, source documents, patents and external publications
  • Works within departmental teams, supports deliverables and participates in team discussion on experimental planning and issue resolution
  • Participates in weekend work rotation with the broader team

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good communication of technical/scientific information within a team
  • Effective at working as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Prior experience with cell culture and aseptic technique preferred
  • Good organizational skills and high attention to detail

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific/engineering field is required
  • Typically requires 0-2 years experience with a Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Contract length: 6 months, with the chance to extend.


$31/hr.-$34/hr.


Monday - Friday, occasional weekend work required.
