Job description

Eaton's Electrical Division is currently seeking an Associate Quality Engineer to join our team. This position based at our South Milwaukee, WI facility.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $59000 - $86000 a year.

What you'll do:
The Associate Quality Engineer is responsible for reviewing the daily in process metrics such as SCRAP, DPPMs, DMRs/QNs for internal and external supplier defects in one of the SMKE manufacturing departments and ensure appropriate actions are implemented to protect internal and external customers.
  • Review daily quality in-process metrics to determine team priorities like internal/external customer complaints, scrap & internal/external supplier DPPMs.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions using 8D, 5 Why, A3 and lean tools to support initiatives around the reduction of internal & customer PPM, rework, scrap and FPY.
  • Direct cross-functional teams to eliminate roadblocks and communication barriers that may affect quality and customer requirements.
  • Process, analyze and control non-conforming material from the department daily.
  • Interact with multidisciplinary resources on the problem-solving projects for product quality improvements and document the QRQC reports to customers as required.
  • Support new product development from a Quality standpoint.
  • Ensure the standardized EQMS processes for the quality management system are established, implemented, measured, and maintained within his designated department.
  • Participates in the Material Review Board.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
    A minimum of one (1) year of experience in similar positions related to quality, manufacturing or operations is required.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of 50 miles of South Milwaukee, WI will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Well-developed computer skills to perform essential functions.
    • Knowledge in quality tools/methodologies (PPAP, APQP, MSA, PFEMA SPC, Auditing).
    • Knowledge in basic problem-solving tools (8D, A3, Fishbone analysis).
    • Foundations using basic statistical techniques (Pareto, R&R).
    • Ability to read manufacturing drawings.
    • ISO 9001 / TS 16949 / IATF 16949 Knowledge.
    • Knowledge in measurement devices and inspection techniques.
