Your role and responsibilities
As an Associate Data Engineer at IBM, you'll help organizations unlock the value of their data to make smarter decisions, improve business outcomes, and accelerate innovation through Artificial Intelligence and advanced analytics.
As part of our AI & Analytics practice, you'll work on projects that leverage data, machine learning, Generative AI, and analytics to solve complex business challenges. No two projects are exactly alike-you could support healthcare, financial services, public sector, federal sector, automotive, energy, retail, industrial, or manufacturing clients. Work side-by-side with experienced consultants, data scientists, AI engineers, data engineers, and business professionals to develop innovative solutions for real clients.
Through mentorship, certifications, structured learning, and hands-on client experiences, you'll build the skills needed to grow your career in data and AI consulting.

Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
• Currently completing or recently completed a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics,
Analytics, or a related field.
• Foundational knowledge of programming languages such as Python, SQL, Java, or similar technologies.
• Foundational understanding of databases, data structures, data processing, and analytics concepts.
• Foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, or data-driven decision-making concepts gained through coursework, projects, research, certifications, IBM SkillsBuild, or self-directed learning.
• Exposure to cloud technologies, modern data platforms, or data architectures through coursework, labs, projects, hackathons, or internships.
• Ability to communicate technical findings and data-driven insights to both technical and business audiences.
