1ST SHIFT PRODUCTION PLANNER - EATON RAPIDS, MICHIGAN
A Leading Automotive Supplier in the Eaton Rapids, Michigan area needs a 1st Shift Production Planner. Extensive Plex ERP UX Experience is Required for this Position.
This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for the creation and maintenance of production schedules which meet customer demands while optimizing resources. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure orders are fulfilled on time and within budget.
Support supply chain team (i.e. Materials Superintendent) in communicating shipping delays and constraints ensuring customer protection through implementation and control of robust and immediate corrective actions.
Develops and maintains an effective production plan for the area of responsibility which will ensure customer order requests are successfully achieved while optimizing resources.
Analyzes demand and capacity to identify potential bottlenecks or issues which could impact plan attainment.
Work closely with cross-functional teams (i.e. Tooling, Engineering, Production, Purchasing, etc.) to ensure planned resources are available when needed (i.e. materials, equipment, labor, etc.) to achieve the schedule.
Monitor production progress and adjust the production plan as needed to ensure deadlines are met.
Communicate status updates and potential issues to others as needed
Documents key information, including downtime, peak production, inventory accuracy, and scheduling accuracy; and works with personnel to analyze and create enhanced functionality in manufacturing applications.
Address internal production constraints, providing necessary guidance to allow teams to identify root cause and countermeasures so problems can be eradicated and prevented from reoccurrence.
Ensures accurate and precise communication of results and targets to shop floor teams, peers, and management team. Contributes with information to complete daily, weekly and monthly reporting to all interested parties such as management team, corporate office, and external stakeholders.
Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to identify and implement opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Previous Production Scheduling Experience in an Automotive Manufacturing Plant is Required
Experience with ERP systems (Plex Required) and Production Scheduling Software
Knowledge of Material Resource Planning (MRP) Best Practices
Microsoft Office Professional with advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledgeable regarding Production Planning & Scheduling Processes
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Principles & Continuous Improvement Methodologies
An Associate s or Bachelor s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or another related field is Preferred
