Summary:

The Manufacturing Scheduler/Inventory Planner’s responsibility is to ensure assigned product is scheduled according to Pioneer’s objectives and to serve as main focal point on inventory control. Maintaining internal ordered to meet the requirements of the markets and providing feedback on the accuracy of the forecast. Enter and maintain forecasts for assigned products. Lead the cycle count process and establish guidelines for inventory locations. Lead efforts to establish and maintain minimum and maximum quantities. Assist sales in determining ship dates for assigned products within established parameters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The responsibilities listed below are not intended to be all-inclusive.

  • Review Action Messages daily and take appropriate action.
  • Utilize the ERP system to plan, schedule and balance product requirements between the various Markets for assigned product.
  • Work with production and manufacturing engineering to determine and maintain economical min/max levels.
  • Review and adjust inventory locations as needed.
  • Enter and maintain purchase orders.
  • Ensure that cycle count process is effective.
  • Understand and adjust inventory locations as needed.
  • Provide historical data in the form of reports to Markets to facilitate forecast generation.
  • Enter Forecast for Markets into system upon approval for assigned products.
  • Provide feedback for forecast accuracy; make changes as indicated.
  • Recommend and execute inventory transfers between sites as approved by Markets.
  • Assist in yearly physical inventory audits.
  • Additional duties may be assigned on an as required basis.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer associate degree in business, manufacturing, or logistics related field.
  • Must possess basic math skills and ability to accurately read a tape measure.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret the English language.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, sales associates, and manufacturing associates.
  • Associates must have the ability to communicate internally and externally effectively and efficiently.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with the variety of situations which occur in the daily scheduling and inventory control operations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or work order forms.
  • Problem solving skills and efficient multitasking skills are essential.
  • Practical problem solving that can occur during the assembly process.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficient keystrokes using Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office software. Working knowledge of Internet and e-mail.
  • Prefer at least one year of experience using MRPII software including a general understanding of MRP II philosophy and the relationship between all functional areas of a manufacturing company.
  • Ability to complete data entry in an accurate and expedient manner.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Agility of the upper and lower body extremities and capable of lifting 50 pounds.
