Job description

The occupant of this position will act as a student worker for the School of Aeronautics. The occupant will be part of a fast-paced and dynamic team. Job duties will include, but are not limited to: creating engaging social media content for weekly announcement videos, capturing and editing photos, filming and editing video content, inventorying promotional items, aiding the Communications Coordinator and Online Chair with preparations for air shows, and assisting with creative coverage of large SOA events. This position requires someone who can work independently, well under pressure, and in a fast-paced environment while exercising sound judgment at all times.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in all aspects of the photo/video creation process, including photojournalistic and pre-planned/pre-staged photography and videography shoots.
  • Edit photos in two pre-determined editing styles using Adobe Lightroom Classic software.
  • Assist with file management following large events.
  • Oversee the start-to-finish creation of weekly announcement videos, including scripting, talent management, filming, and processing videos for compatibility on all LUSOA social media platforms.
  • Oversee inventory logs of LUSOA promotional items.
  • Inform the Communications Coordinator of the low promotional items inventory.
  • Assist with air show preparations.
  • Assist with special events.
  • Assist with various projects as needed.
  • Assist with graphic design projects when needed, including creating event posters and slide decks.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Education and ExperienceMinimum Qualifications
  • must be a registered student of Liberty University
  • Must be familiar with camera equipment, including Canon mirrorless cameras and lenses.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of Adobe Lightroom Classic and Adobe Premiere Pro.
Preferred Qualifications
  • preferably proficient in adobe photoshop and adobe illustrator
