General Description

We are in search of a Senior DeltaV MES (Syncade) Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Engineer to add to our dynamic team. This position is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of our customers’ manufacturing execution systems (MES). The Senior DeltaV MES (Syncade) MES Engineer will be a significant contributor and often the lead technical resource on customer projects. The engineer will deliver quality solutions and services to customers using DeltaV MES (Syncade), or other MES platforms. The Senior MES Engineer will have close interaction with project management and account management to ensure that the project is delivered within the schedule and budget and with the high level of quality expected by our customers. Additionally, the Senior MES Engineer will provide mentoring and leadership to other engineers assigned to projects.   

The Senior DeltaV MES (Syncade) MES Engineer will also be expected to provide support to sales, generate estimates and proposals, and contribute to operations and project management functions.  The role has the support of the MES Practice Leads who have decades of MES design and deployment experience to help the Senior MES Engineer guide customers to a reasonable solution for their needs. 

The Senior DeltaV MES (Syncade) MES Engineer may also provide aftermarket (“Lifecycle”) and staff augmentation support to customers. Typically, this includes maintaining and updating existing site MES systems, implementing small scale expansion projects, and assisting with process optimization projects 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of MES solutions using DeltaV MES (Syncade) or other platforms to enhance manufacturing efficiency and compliance. 

  • Integrate MES with other enterprise systems (ERP, LIMS, SCADA) to ensure seamless data flow and process automation. 

  • Lead a team to develop functional specification, detailed designs, implement, troubleshoot and test MES solutions that meet client/project requirements, including but not limited to: 

    • Recipes / Workflows 

    • Equipment Management 

    • Materials management 

    • Document Management 

    • Reports Configuration 

  • Interface with the Solutions Consultant team to identify and create new business opportunities 

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering, to align MES initiatives with business goals.  

  • Work with customer engineering teams to provide required documentation and implementation processed for their Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). 

  • Ensure MES solutions comply with regulatory requirements (GMP, FDA, etc.) and support validation activities.  

  • Develop and deliver training programs for end-users and create comprehensive documentation for MES processes and procedures.  

  • Work independently on-site at a customer location  

  • Support start-up and commissioning activities at customer sites  

  • Limited travel in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia as needed 

Required Competencies

Required Education and Experience

  • B.S. in CHE, EE, ME, Comp. Eng, Comp. Sci., or other related disciplines  

  • 7+ years’ experience working with DeltaV MES (Syncade), or similar MES platforms  

  • MS Office Experience 

Preferred Experience/Competencies

  • Experience with object-oriented programming using XML, SQL, VBScript, Web Parts, Web Services, etc. 

  • Experience integrating MES platforms with 3rd party ERP or quality systems 

  • Understanding of regulated and validated systems 

  • Experience with .NET technologies 

  • ISA-95 Enterprise-Control System Integration Model  

  • Batch process control/ISA-88 experience
