Associate Operations Specialist
Location: Kansas City, Missouri (Local candidates highly preferred)

To support our growth, we are seeking candidates with an interest in utility energy efficiency programs and knowledge of energy-efficient technologies associated with commercial building systems. As an Associate Operations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient and effective management of energy and environmental programs and projects. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for process improvements, sharing best practices, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and conducting thorough analyses of program operations.

What you will be doing:

  • Work as part of the energy efficiency team ensuring that the evaluation, implementation, and verification of utility-sponsored energy efficiency projects are successfully executed
  • Develop and share best practices across the team and organization
  • Collaborate with IT, Marketing, and Customer Care teams
  • Conduct analyses to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
  • Manage key deliverables such as reporting, forecasting, client invoices and key performance indicators (KPI)
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and manage client-facing presentations
  • Assist with processing incoming project applications and technical review
  • Review project application forms and submittals to ensure compliance with program policies and procedures
  • Assign project applications for further processing and review per program policies and procedures
  • Assist with customer and contractor inquiries
  • Coordinate quality control follow-up on project inspections and customer surveys as appropriate
  • Attend periodic in person meetings

Skills:

  • Energy Program Operations: Understanding of utility-sponsored energy efficiency programs and commercial building technologies
  • Process & Compliance Review: Skilled in reviewing project applications and ensuring adherence to program policies and procedures
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with IT, Reporting, Marketing, and Customer Care teams to support program delivery
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to identify trends and opportunities for improvement through data analysis
  • Customer & Contractor Support: Capable of handling inquiries and coordinating follow-ups for inspections and surveys
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite; familiarity with Power BI, SharePoint Lists, and Power Automate

What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree (or applicants can substitute one year of related experience for one year of education)
  • 1+ year(s) professional experience in administration, operational support, data analysis, energy and/or related experience

What we would like you to have (preferred skills):

  • Knowledge of the utility market (specifically energy efficiency, demand response, and distributed energy resource programs and markets)
  • Experience with Power BI (or similar data visualization tool)
  • Experience with advanced Microsoft data software such as SharePoint Lists and Power Automate
  • Experience with data management and reporting

Professional skills you will use:

  • Strong time management, communication, and organization skills
  • Must be experienced in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), with demonstrated experience in Excel
  • Outstanding analytical, writing, and communication skills
