Job Summary:
Nordic Global is a company focused on making a difference while fostering career growth. They are seeking a Network Engineer II to assist in enterprise network design, implementation, and support, while also providing guidance to team members and ensuring adherence to defined standards and policies.
Responsibilities:
• Perform daily prioritization of work to ensure assigned project and incident SLA requirements are met
• Install, configure, and maintain campus-wide wired and wireless (Wi-Fi) network hardware and software.
• Assist with the evaluation and recommendation of technical solutions based on requirements, ranging from local to enterprise-wide deployments
• Resolve network performance issues, manage network outages, and provide escalation support for technical teams.
• Create detailed network diagrams, configurations, processes, and service records.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal IT teams to deliver projects and maintain system uptime.
• Perform tasks related to the operation, servicing, and troubleshooting
Qualifications:
Required:
• 4+ years of experience in Network Engineering
• Strong knowledge of Cisco Catalyst network infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of routing and switching (LAN/WAN, VLANs), wireless technologies, and network security standards.
• Knowledge of network hardware and software such as routers, LAN and WAN switches, cabling and testing equipment
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF), VLANs, and Cisco networking technologies.
• Ability to use monitoring tools (e.g., SNMP, Wireshark, Thousand Eyes) for troubleshooting.
• Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills, oral communication skills, and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
• Strong customer service orientation
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• On-call availability 7/24 as part of a rotation schedule
• Requires working outside normal business hours for maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of the application of technology in the technical environment
• Have the necessary communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients at all levels
• Have the ability to keep up to date with technology as it develops and its potential impact
• Be capable of taking a conceptual solution and turning it into a detailed design, configured and priced for the client
• Act as the technical point of contact for clients and technical teams throughout the project life cycle
• Be self-managed and capable of prioritizing workload based on workload requirements
• Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience or 8 years of related experience.
