Lanteris Space Systems is seeking a Linux/Windows Systems Administrator who's excited to work in the space industry modernizing and supporting the infrastructure that supports satellite flight software development, verification and validation, assembly integration and test, and mission control operations. This person will support, protect, and implement new hardware/software that support our satellite bus systems: Lanteris 300, Lanteris 500, Lanteris 1300, and Power Propulsion Element platforms. This team member will be on site in our San Jose office!

Your Project: As a member of the Engineering Support Team/System Administrators, you will be working to support the engineers who develop flight and ground software for validation and verification. This includes ensuring high availability of the infrastructure and modernizing solutions for scalability, availability, and consistency.
What you'll do day-to-day (with your colleagues):
  • Collaborate with hardware and software leads to understand, capture, and execute on requirements and design specifications
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure problems and provide solutions for fixes.
  • Design, develop, and upgrade operating systems that support existing tooling and future tooling
  • Collaborate across company for common fixes and best practices and networking infrastructure

Minimum requirements for this position:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field. Four additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows system administration
  • Familiarity with Networking and Operating Systems
  • Ability to script for automation
  • Experience in cyber security and hardening/system upgrades
  • Experience working with shell scripting

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional experience in the aerospace industry
  • Experience supporting windows-based machines
  • Experience in satellite hardware test, build, and integration
  • Experience with modern cloud-based Software Development Lifecycle Management & productivity tools/workflows (Amazon EKS/EC2/ECR etc., Microsoft Azure, Google CE)
  • Knowledge of legacy hardware and software and how and architecture experience around cloud solutions
  • Experience create and debugging Linux environments
  • Experience with automation systems
  • Knowledge of network boot environments

In support of pay transparency at Lanteris Space Systems, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
• The base pay for this position within California is: $77,000.00 - $128,000.00 hourly.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, health and welfare insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees. More information on our benefits will be shared with candidates as they move forward in the recruitment process.
