What you will do:
In this role you will:
  • Design and develop control solutions using direct digital controls to support smarter, more efficient building systems.
  • Apply engineering principles to create reliable, effective control strategies that align with project goals and customer needs.
  • Review project requirements and perform site assessments to ensure designs are accurate, coordinated, and ready for installation.
  • Prepare installation, submittal, and as-built drawings that guide field teams and ensure smooth transitions through each project phase.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers to address concerns, provide thoughtful solutions, and ensure a positive project experience.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and support continuous enhancement of processes, tools, and project outcomes.

What you will bring:
  • Experience working with control systems, building automation, or related technical fields, with the ability to understand how mechanical and electrical systems interact.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents, and communicate clearly with customers and internal teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to gather information, evaluate options, and make sound decisions.
  • Comfort working with technical instructions, diagrams, or data to troubleshoot system challenges.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field preferred; or an associate degree or technical certificate in HVAC, AAS, or BAS with related experience; or a combination of education and hands-on experience that provides the necessary skills.
  • Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.
  • Must be able to safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seat belt.
  • Must be able to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness and safety boots to safely perform job duties.
  • Must be able to twist the trunk of your body 90 degrees in each direction.
  • Must be able to squat and touch the floor with both hands.
  • Must be able to reach your hands over your head.
  • Must be able to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours.
  • Must be able to safely use a ladder with a 350 lb. total weight limit, while carrying equipment of 50 lbs. or less.
  • Must be able to maneuver confined access areas, as small as 30" vertical x 45" horizontal.
  • Must be able to comfortably and routinely access rooftops with extension and/or fixed ladders at heights of 15' to 20', and occasionally, up to 50 feet +
  • This role may be exposed to variable weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, risk of electrical shock, noisy operating equipment and other variable environmental conditions based on location.
  • Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods while performing detailed engineering and design work.
  • Must be able to maintain focus and perform computer-based tasks that require consistent hand, wrist, and finger movement for typing and mouse use.
  • Must be able to view computer screens for long durations with appropriate breaks as needed.
