Are you ready to move from the floor to the Nursing Management team? If so we have the opportunity for you. Aurora, Colorado Building is seeking a Certified Infection Preventionist to add expertise to the aleady well versed group. The Ideal Candidate will possess a CDC IP certification with experince regarding infection control and knowledge of statewide IC specifics. This position with be within the nursing management team, thus serving as a resource by attending to call, assisting staff on the the floor when needed and acting in the capacity of leadership will be necessary. Purpose of your job position

The primary purpose of your job position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct all in-service educational programs throughout the facility in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.

Job Function

Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to plan, develop, direct, conduct, evaluate, and coordinate staff training, education, in service, and orientation

  • Must maintain associate training and in service records

  • Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients

  • Must perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to patient rights, and safety and sanitation.

  • Must have expert knowledge in the field of practice.

  • Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.

  • Must understand and follow company policies including compliance procedures.

  • Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.

  • Implement recommendation from the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee as the relate to the educational needs of this facility.

  • Ensure that all personnel attend and participate in annual OSHA and CDC in-service training programs for hazard communication, TB management , and bloodborne pathogens standard.

  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned to you at any time with or without notice, from Nurse Management or NHA.

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements:

  • Must maintain an active nursing RN license in good standing throughout employment.

  • Must have experience in supervision and principles, practice of teaching, etc.

  • Must possess skills in leadership and communication

  • Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
