Job description

Miami Family Law Group is seeking an Associate Family Law Attorney to support and manage family law matters, including divorce, custody, asset division, and related disputes. This is a structured growth role designed for a developing Florida litigator who is ready to take on real responsibility under the guidance of experienced partners. You will manage an active caseload, advise clients directly, and gain meaningful courtroom and litigation experience.

What You'll Own

  • Client matters from intake through resolution, with direct partner oversight and collaboration
  • Case drafting, including pleadings, motions, and discovery documents
  • Court appearances for hearings and conferences with senior attorney support
  • Client communication, keeping clients informed and building trust throughout their matter
  • Your own professional development as you grow toward independent case management

What You'll Get

  • Structured mentorship from experienced partners who invest in developing junior attorneys
  • Real casework from day one, not document review and administrative tasks
  • A clear path toward greater autonomy as your skills and judgment develop
  • Paralegals and admin staff handling scheduling, document management, and deadline tracking
  • A well run practice using Clio Manage, so you spend time lawyering, not chasing files

Responsibilities

  • Support and manage family law matters under partner supervision
  • Advise clients on case status, next steps, and strategy with partner guidance
  • Draft, review, and refine pleadings, motions, and discovery
  • Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and related proceedings
  • Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations
  • Work closely with paralegals and support staff to keep matters progressing
  • Maintain strong client communication and high service standards
  • Identify procedural and legal issues early and escalate appropriately

Requirements

Required:

  • Active Florida Bar membership in good standing
  • 3 to 5 years of family law experience
  • Some litigation exposure including hearings or motion practice
  • Ability to manage assigned matters with guidance and grow toward independence
  • Strong written, verbal, and client communication skills
  • Organized, dependable, and professionally grounded

Preferred:

  • Exposure to complex or high-conflict family law matters
  • Interest in mediation and settlement strategy
  • Eagerness to develop mentoring skills over time

Benefits

Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement

PTO + CLE budget for continuing education
