Maersk Warehousing and Distribution USA LLC handles end-to-end warehousing and distribution logistics needs utilizing our strategic network of storage facilities. Our facilities are capable of receiving, storing, processing and dispatching cargo, so we can build flexibility and resilience into the supply chain process.Our integrated solutions allow us to be prepared for supply chain risks, so we can plan distribution to better achieve lead time and goals despite unexpected conditions. This position will primarily oversee and participate in the processing of merchandise and/or the information required to effectively accomplish the shift goals on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, and direct others ; assign and assist with work load, monitors work progress/order assignments, and resolves routine issues
Identify complex work flow issues and advises supervisor to obtain guidance and direction
Ensure that all work areas, tools and equipment are clean, orderly, and in safe operating condition
Ensure all safety rules/procedures are followed throughout the facility, including PPE, safety vests, cell phone policies, no weapon policy, evacuation procedures, etc.
Strong understanding and ability to use various systems (i.e.: WMOS, SAP, WEB/FT/EC, Manhattan, GLS, UPS Worldship Systems, etc.). Systems may vary by facility and change based on client requirements
Use of Web system to produce accurate and timely reporting of all customer product
Ability to train other colleagues on systems
Use of terminal and/or a Radio Frequency (RF) handheld or equipment mounted hardware
Assist in development of SOP's to exceed customer expectations and increase productivity and accuracy
Understand Inventory accuracy system limits and use of hardware to handle all customer orders within shipping requirements
Apply shipping, receiving labels, manifests and packing lists to shipments as required
Verify shipping/receiving documents, labels, PO/SKU/item as well as container/trailer and dock doors prior to assigning the work load as well as follow up quality control inspections, identifying and reporting discrepancies to supervisor. Double-check shipping/freight information
Ensure all paperwork is delivered to necessary personnel for proper completion of all loads and updates of internal systems
Complete shift notes as required
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with Customer Service staff to ensure all client requirements are being met
Design forms, documents to streamline processes and/or automate processes
Unload/load deliveries of cargo, empty pallets or supplies as required
Monitor supplies for department
Forklift certification required
Ability to lift/handle cartons weighing 40 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 75 pounds
Operates propane and forklifts as needed. Additional equipment certifications may be required based on facility and client requirements
Performs job related duties as specified by management
