Job Summary

The Director, Global Risk Management leads the development, implementation, and oversight of the company's global risk management strategies and initiatives. The Director, Global Risk Management collaborates with various stakeholders and key partners to deliver effective risk management programs primarily related to insurance, claims, compliance, safety, loss prevention, fleet, business resilience, third-party, and other identified enterprise risks. The role also includes regular reporting to senior management, the board of directors, and coordination with finance to ensure transparency and accountability in all risk management activities.

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned)

  • Support the claims management process by collaborating with the claims manager, legal and financial teams as needed.
  • Manage the actuarial process for claims by ensuring accurate forecasting and reserving through data analysis and predictive modeling.
  • Develop and maintain the business continuity plan to ensure preparedness for various disruptions, conducting regular risk assessments and impact analyses.
  • Develop and manage the budget for risk management activities, including periodic accurate forecasting for insurance, claims, and other risk-related expenses.
  • Core participant of the enterprise risk management (ERM) program, identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across the organization with effective assessment tools and methodologies.
  • Manage the bond program, ensuring compliance with regulatory or contractual requirements and maintaining relationships with bond issuers and underwriters.
  • Ensure franchisees and other key third parties are contractually compliant while also providing general risk management guidance and strategies, as needed.
  • Support the development and implementation of both physical and technological safety/security policies and programs ensuring compliance with established procedures, as needed.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies for the company's vehicle fleet, conducting regular assessments to improve safety and efficiency in fleet operations as well as ensuring compliance.
  • Support the development and maintenance of operational disaster recovery plans to ensure sufficient business resilience in response to emergencies, conducting periodic drills and simulations.
  • Consistently challenge the enterprise approach to mitigating complex problems by providing innovative solutions that convey a unique understanding of the interdependencies between business objectives, capabilities, and market trends or options.
  • Lead or support special projects related to risk management as assigned by senior leadership, providing expertise for cross-functional initiatives.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on risk management activities and findings to senior management and the board, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Education, Experience & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5 to 7 years experience required
