Job description

 

Our Associate General Counsel will support our business with all regulatory and legal matters. They will be responsible for overseeing title-related legal projects as well as servicing and other loan-level litigation.

This position requires 100% on-site attendance at our headquarters in Pontiac, MI.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Must Have Qualifications:

  • Michigan bar licensed attorney
  • Litigation experience 
  • Experience in the mortgage banking, banking, loan servicing, or financial industry
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Have effective planning, organizational and project management skills
  • Be able to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively
  • Have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Have excellent written and communication skills
  • Have the ability to work independently
  • Have critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Be self-motivated and able to work well in a team based environment
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Mortgage Servicing Litigation
  • Providing business support on a variety of regulatory and legal matters
  • Experience in overseeing and litigating servicing and other loan-level cases
  • Interpreting legislation and regulations affecting mortgage brokers and lenders
  • Reviewing business relationships with vendors
  • Conducting legal research on unique legal issues impacting the organization
  • Keeping abreast of legislative changes that may affect the Company
  • Performing pre-litigation work to minimize risks and maximize legal rights
  • Providing legal training to Company team members
