Job description

WHO are we looking for?

CAPTRUST is seeking a Financial Planner who will deliver high-level service to clients at our firm. The Financial Planner will work closely alongside Financial Advisors to enhance the productivity and quality of services provided to clients. He or she must fit within our culture of integrity, teamwork, and putting clients’ interests first. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Broadly support Financial Advisors as part of a team in delivering top quality advice and service to clients
  • Collect and organize information for financial plans; input information into our firm’s financial planning software create financial plans for clients
  • Prepare for client meetings (independently or with senior advisors) by coordinating resources and expertise to deliver investment performance, market updates, economic forecasts, and other topical information to clients
  • Implement changes, adjustments, portfolio rebalance, recommendations, transitions, etc. of client portfolios with CAPTRUST’s research and trading teams
  • Review, analyze, and summarize client’s estate planning documents, tax returns, insurance policies, and all other financial data and be able to identify errors and make recommendations for improvements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, and one to three years of experience at a wealth management or financial planning advisory firm
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point)
  • Desire and passion to be in a support role for at least three years.

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Knowledge of or exposure to eMoney or similar financial planning software
  • Possession of or desire to pursue CFP® Designation
  • Ability to review, research, interpret, and discuss investment, financial, and security specific data with Senior Advisors and clients
  • Proficiency and understanding of Trusts & Estates and Tax Planning
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills, includes being polished, courteous, professional, and patient
  • Good organizational skills such as multi-tasking, adapting priorities, and meeting deadlines
