Job description

Role Summary

Associate Field Service Engineer is responsible for customer focused mechanical and electronic repairs on Elekta modalities, performing troubleshooting, calibrations, maintenance, and ensuring administrative requirements are met. The role represents Elekta professionally to customers and supports projects, programs and policies.

Responsibilities
  • Perform low risk troubleshooting and repairs on the designated modality achieving a 50% success rate of diagnosing the problem within escalation procedures.
  • Perform supervised calibrations and preventative maintenance on the designated modality.
  • Work safely in confined areas including high current/high voltage modulators (20โ€‘50kV, 1500A) and ensure use of peripheral vision to gauge distances.
  • Work safely on Elekta's full range of products including medical devices producing highโ€‘energy ionizing radiation.
  • Read, analyze, interpret and follow signal flow on blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Submit timely and accurate service reports, timesheets, expense reports, film badges and other paperwork as assigned.
  • Manage parts inventory.
  • Provide product feedback to home office.
  • Maintain all companyโ€‘leased equipment, including company automobile, parts and tools.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Electronics, Physics or an associated discipline.
  • Good electroโ€‘mechanical aptitude.
  • Computer literate.
  • Proficiency in using test equipment and hand tools including oscilloscopes, multiโ€‘meters.
  • Good understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice, including ESD requirements.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to represent the organization professionally and positively.
  • Organize and prepare reports.
  • Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time and work unsociable hours.
  • Active driver's license in the home state.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

Requires standing, walking, sitting, handling objects and tools, reaching with hands and arms, talking and hearing. Occasionally lifting and moving light to moderate weight. Must adjust focus, work in moderate noise and temperature environments.

Requires travel up to 100% of the time.
