As an Associate Engineer at Ware Malcomb, you will assist the Project Engineer or Project Manager in designing commercial and residential land development projects. You will coordinate design efforts in each phase, including preliminary and final grading, utility layout, and construction services. You will use your technical skills to provide design calculations and perform project code research and analyses.

This position is ideal for an engineer in training seeking to gain exposure to all project stages while working under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Your Role
  • Lead design on each phase of the project (typical; Preliminary Grading, Preliminary Utility Layout, Final Grading, Final Utility Plan and Profiles, Construction Documents and Construction Phase services) to deliver a set of contract documents that will be used for permits and construction.
  • Provide AutoCAD support for the preparation of projects documents.
  • Provide design calculations for drainage, utility, Stormwater management, reports, and analysis.
  • Assist the Project Manager or Project Engineer with construction services (site visits, review shop drawings, etc.).
  • Perform project code searches and analysis for each project.
  • Provide assistance for submittals for jurisdiction agencies.
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, consultants, and team members.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience within the Civil Engineering field
  • A minimum of two year of experience in the use of AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred
  • 2-5 years of land/site development experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Strong computer and written and verbal communication skills are essential
  • Strong AutoCAD and Civil3D skills preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
$35 - $45 an hour
