Job Description 

We are seeking an Associate Engineer for our Nashville, TN office. In this role, you will be a key member of our accident reconstruction team, providing expert consulting services to clients within the legal, insurance, and transportation industries. We are committed to ensuring that our clients have all the necessary details to accurately understand and resolve high-stakes vehicle accidents. 


This role offers a blend of fieldwork and in-office analysis. Fieldwork involves the use of advanced technologies, such as 3D laser scanning, drones, and camera equipment, to accurately document accident sites and vehicles, preserving key details before they can be impacted by environmental changes. In the office, you will analyze factors such as vehicle speed, damage, impact forces, driver reaction times, and available video footage. Additionally, we employ advanced software tools to create precise accident reconstructions, providing a visual representation of the events. 

Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, high mechanical aptitude, and a proactive commitment to applying their expertise in support of accurate, science-based accident reconstruction. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities 


Field Investigation & Evidence Collection 

• Perform on-site inspections, vehicle assessments, and rapid-response investigations 

• Capture and document physical evidence using advanced tools, including 3D laser scanning, drones, and digital photography 

• Preserve scene and vehicle conditions through accurate documentation prior to environmental or external changes 

• Engineering Analysis & Technical Support 

• Apply engineering principles to analyze vehicle motion, damage patterns, impact forces, and driver response 

• Utilize specialized software tools, including CAD, photogrammetry, collision simulation, laser scanning platforms, and vehicle event data recorder (EDR) analysis 

• Support planning and execution of engineering analyses under the guidance of senior engineers 

• Documentation & Reporting 

• Prepare clear, technically accurate written materials in support of engineering reports 

• Assist with the development of visual exhibits and reconstruction models 

• Present technical findings to internal team members and, as appropriate, external audiences with varying levels of technical expertise 


Project & Team Support 

• Support multiple projects with competing deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy 

• Collaborate effectively with engineers, client engagement staff, and operations partners 

• Demonstrate professionalism and accountability in all client-facing and internal interactions
