Temporary Design Engineer

Location: Manchester, NH Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week (Onsite) Position Type: Temporary Pay: $48.00–$58.00 per hour, depending on experience

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join their team on a temporary basis. This position will support engineering projects by designing, developing, testing, and improving mechanical products and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, experience with SolidWorks, and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

· Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications.

· Design, develop, and test mechanical components, systems, and products using SolidWorks and other CAD software.

· Evaluate alternate designs and manufacturing methods to improve product performance, reliability, and cost.

· Conduct engineering research, testing, and feasibility studies for new and existing products.

· Analyze equipment and system performance and recommend design modifications to improve functionality.

· Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing, and production teams to implement design improvements and resolve technical issues.

· Develop engineering documentation, including specifications, performance requirements, and testing procedures.

· Support production by coordinating manufacturing methods, fabrication processes, and product implementation.

· Investigate equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.

· Assist with product installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting as needed.

· Ensure all designs comply with engineering standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications.

· Provide technical support throughout the product development lifecycle.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

· 5–10 years of design engineering experience required.

· Proficiency in SolidWorks is required.

· Experience with additional CAD software is preferred.

· Manufacturing experience is a plus.

· Project management experience is a plus.

· Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
