Controls Engineer Coordinator
Job Description Summary
Oversees the design, testing, installation and maintenance of large-scale electronic equipment or machinery for use in manufacturing. Projects range from basic to complex, requiring management of resources and independent judgment and decision-making.Develops and implements controls engineering procedures and techniques.Prepares and manages an annual budget around several projects.
Job Description:
  • Supervises a team of controls engineers; holds them accountable to deliver identified projects on or ahead of schedule, at or under budget, that meet internal customer requirements.
  • Interfaces with operational personnel throughout the project to gather requirements, ensure plan meets the requirement, and gain approval to proceed with the application and project plan.
  • Tracks controls engineering project accomplishments by comparing outcomes to plans; summarizing results; keeping management informed.
  • Signs off on the testing and validation of controls engineering applications. Authorizes applications to be put in production upon successful outcomes of tests.
  • Ensures project documentation is completed following the approved methodology, tools, and templates.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
  • 3-7 years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering
  • Experience in a leadership role
  • Experience in Allen Bradley PLC's, Servo Controllers, HMI products, and software.
  • Knowledge of Fanuc robots - recovery and teaching points on a teach pendant.
  • Troubleshoot, read, and edit PLC logic and CNC programs.
