Summary: The Clinical Systems Analyst - Epic Beaker Analysts support the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of the Epic applications. This role works closely with clinical staff and IT teams to ensure the electronic health record (EHR) system effectively supports Lab workflows, enhances patient care, and maintains compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the design, build, testing, and maintenance of Epic functionality
Collaborate with clinicians, nurses, and operational stakeholders to gather requirements and improve workflows
Provide day-to-day support for clinical documentation issues and troubleshoot system problems
Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, and optimization projects
Create and maintain system documentation, training materials, and standard operating procedures
Support end-user training and onboarding related daily workflows
Monitor system performance and recommend improvements
Ensure compliance with healthcare standards, privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA), and organizational policies
Work with senior analysts to develop and implement best practices
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience: Up to 4 years of experience in healthcare IT, clinical operations, or EHR systems preferred. Clinical knowledge of Lab workflows preferred.
Exposure to Epic Systems applications a plus
Epic Certification (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe)
Skills & Competencies:
Basic understanding of clinical workflows and documentation practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced healthcare IT environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Clinical background (Lab, Medical Tech, or allied health)
Experience with EHR systems or healthcare applications
Familiarity with clinical documentation processes
Work Environment: Office healthcare IT setting
Requires occasional on-call support or off-hours work during system upgrades
