Job description

Pennoni Associates is currently seeking a Associate Roadway Engineer to work in our Philadelphia, PA officeto perform the following, but not limited to:

  • The successful candidate will lead 3D highway/roadway design components associated with transportation improvement projects, locally administered transportation projects, and highway and bridges projects for a variety of clients including PennDOT, private developers, DRPA, DelDOT, and local municipalities and agencies in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

  • The candidate should have a firm grasp of geometric design, grading and stormwater management, traffic control, signing and the ability to learn new concepts.

  • An understanding of AASHTO and PennDOT design standards, quantity calculations, cost estimations, and plan creation is beneficial but not required.

  • The candidate will work with a team of engineers to design new highways and streets as well as rehabilitation of existing highways and streets.

Required Attributes

  • 4+ years relevant experience
  • EIT certification and willingness to take the PE exam ASAP.
  • MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Experience. Bentley InRoads.
  • Bluebeam PDF editor experience a plus.
  • Experience with plan production and assembly a plus.

Preferred Attributes

  • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.

  • Having the ability to work in a Team Environment is key.
