The Catholic Community Foundation of Los Angeles (CCF-LA) is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable religious corporation guided by the values of the Catholic faith. Incorporated in 2014, CCF-LA opened its doors for business on March 2, 2015, based on a shared dream by various Catholic stakeholders to help build and strengthen the Catholic community of Los The Associate Director of Business Development (ADBD) is a new position and a key team member in strategically positioning CCF-LA as the preferred destination for investment among institutions, foundations, and individual donors. The ADBA will cultivate and strengthen relationships with both new and existing partners, aligning their philanthropic goals with CCF-LA's mission and impact. Reporting to the Director of Business Development and working closely with the Vice President of Business Development the ADBD will play a pivotal role in the organization's growth. The Associate Director of Business Development plays a vital role in advancing the Catholic Community Foundation of Los Angeles' mission by driving the growth of its asset base. This individual is responsible for the implementation and management of CCF-LA's client development efforts related to organizations and individual charitable fund clients. CCF-LA was founded based on providing philanthropic services that are driven by the values of our faith in everything we do from issuing grants to managing investments. As the Director of Client Services shared, "CCF-LA empowers Catholic organizations and individuals to grow their endowments, corpuses, and donor-advised funds to enable greater investment in the Catholic causes they hold dear. "
Ten years into its journey, CCF-LA emerged as a financially robust foundation, stewarding nearly $570 million in assets and consistently generating a surplus. This strength is underpinned by a generous and values-driven Board of Directors, whose strategic approach has been instrumental in advancing the foundation's mission. Now, at a pivotal moment in its evolution, the Board and leadership team are making bold investments in infrastructure and talent - laying the groundwork to elevate CCF-LA to the next level, with a visionary goal of reaching $1 billion in assets.
In March 2026, the Vice President of Business Development and Client Services made a strategic hire by bringing on a new Director of Business Development to support the Foundation's growth objectives. With more than 20 years of experience driving philanthropic growth in leadership roles, the Director is now developing a comprehensive strategy and actively building out her team to accelerate impact and results.
Position Description

This individual is responsible for the implementation and management of CCF-LA's client development efforts related to organizations and individual charitable fund clients. This position will require a deep understanding of the lived experiences of the Catholic community and the business acumen of a visionary leader and collaborator.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Growth strategy & pipeline
  • Reports Directly to the Director of Business Development and works closely with the Vice President of Business Development and Client Services to identify and cultivate prospects for charitable fund services including donor-advised funds, endowments, designated funds and others according to CCF-LA's strategic plan.
  • Source and qualify prospects via parish/school leadership, Catholic networks, and targeted events.

Centers of influence (COI) development
  • Proactively engage wealth managers, trust & estate attorneys, family offices, private foundations and institutional partners; deliver firm briefing sessions to keep CCF-LA top-of-mind.

Origination & closing
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities, develop prospect lists and design innovative strategic cultivation strategies for each.
  • Regularly connect with and presents to professional advisors and their firms to ensure the Foundation is top of mind for their client's philanthropic planning.
  • Draft and design fund management and customized presentations and proposals utilizing various CCF-LA services as charitable solutions to individual and institutional prospects.
  • Maintain effective communications including records of visits, call reports, and follow-up assignments.
  • Meet individual and organizational goals for number of proposals issued, funds established, and contributions/deposits to new and existing CCF-LA accounts.

Stewardship
  • Collaborate with the Client Services teams to develop client stewardship strategies to involve current donors in Foundation programs and donor-leveraged grantmaking efforts.
  • Attend and represent CCF-LA at targeted client events.

Internal partnerships
  • Attend business development and general staff meetings as required.
  • Assist in implementation of marketing and communications initiatives to build CCF-LA brand and mission to support client development efforts.
  • Work closely with the Finance Department to understand the financial markets, investment results, and treasury functions of managing the charitable assets of CCF-LA clients.

Market intelligence & governance
  • Remain informed on legal and technical issues related to community foundations and the philanthropic field as it relates to current and prospective donors and gifts; advises the Board and staff on these issues as necessary.

Administration
  • Collaborate with the Finance Team and database provider to best utilize system tools and resources regarding client accounts, client reporting and service.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential files and produce appropriate production reports.
  • Explore CRM models with the Director of Business Development.

Education/Experience/Skills
  • A team player, high energy, and passionate about the mission of CCF-LA and the Catholic Church.
  • Mission-aligned with Catholic values; experience working with parishes, schools, or Catholic institutions is a plus.
  • Bachelor ' s degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in professional fundraising within a nonprofit organization or business development in an investment management firm. CCF-LA provides comprehensive training to fundraising executives, equipping them with the skills to effectively engage and secure institutional prospects.
  • Highly collaborative, flexible, creative, and open to shifting priorities and timelines and an ability to identify new, creative solutions when challenges arise.
  • A "self-starter" who is goal-driven to achieve individual and team objectives.
  • Strong project management skills: strong track record of creating work plans, setting goals, measurable targets, balancing multiple tasks and projects, meeting deadlines, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, especially for drafting proposals and presentations.
  • Excellent written and or presentation skills; boardroom ready.
  • Relational database experience.
  • Sensitive to confidential information and the needs of those served by CCF-LA.
  • Execute all other reasonable duties as assigned by the Director of Business Development.

Work Model & Travel
  • Based in Downtown Glendale with regular on-site client meetings across the Archdiocese; evening/weekend events as needed; 30-40% local travel.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range of $120,000 to $130,000, depending on experience, plus a 4% matching 401(k) program and other competitive benefits will be offered to attract an outstanding candidate.
