We are seeking a talented Database Developer to design, develop, and optimize database solutions within our cloud infrastructure. This role will focus on building robust database logic, stored procedures, and data layer components that power our enterprise applications in a modern cloud environment.

The ideal candidate will work as part of a cross-functional agile team, collaborating closely with application developers, QA engineers, DevOps specialists, Site Reliability engineers, and product owners throughout the software delivery lifecycle. You will participate in all agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Design and implement database logic, stored procedures, functions, and triggers in cloud-based database platforms.

  • Design and implement database structures via DDL such as tables, indices, partitions, constraints.

  • Develop data access layers and optimize query performance for scalability

  • Collaborate with application developers to ensure seamless integration between database and application layers.

  • Partner with DevOps teams to implement database CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation

  • Work with QA engineers to develop testing strategies for database components and setting up test data.

  • Analyze, plan, and execute data migrations as needed to support business objectives.

  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

  • Review code and provide constructive feedback to team members.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in development and production environments with an emphasis on performance tuning and optimization.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Deep understanding of relational database design concepts.

  • Strong Oracle and PostgreSQL development skills: solid SQL and PL/SQL coding techniques; ability to create and maintain tables, constraints, triggers, views, stored procedures and functions, packages, and types; solid understanding of SQL tuning practices and indexing and partitioning strategies.

  • Experience as an application or operational DBA and/or knowledge of Oracle and PostgreSQL database architecture.

  • Experience with cloud data management and infrastructure, including the ability to provision, configure, and maintain necessary data infrastructure though pipelines and infrastructure as code.

  • Working knowledge and practical experience with backing up and restoring databases.

  • Experience with NoSQL and/or DynamoDB is desirable.

The expected starting salary range for the Database Developer Senior is between $111,400 and $153,100 annually, for the Database Developer is between $90,500 and $124,400 annually and for the Database Developer Associate is between $66,100 and $90,900 annually. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience, skills, internal equity, and market data.
