Job description

Description

We are searching for a creative and detail-oriented Associate Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be involved in developing, testing, reviewing, and improving new and existing products across all areas and aspects of our appliance lineup. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, manufacturing and factory representatives, and quality assurance to develop detailed drawings and technical documentation.


Your responsibilities include participating in design drawing reviews, development and verification of manufacturing requirements, and supporting the maintenance of strong CAD data for new and existing products with an emphasis on technical documentation. As a technical expert, providing support for additional groups within the organization is expected. 


Pay Range: $58,000 - $65,000/year


Key Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Review detailed designs and 3D CAD models to be utilized as groundwork for manufacturing documentation, tooling, assembly processes, and product concepts.
  • Create and maintain technical drawings, BOM's and specifications for components and assemblies to clearly communicate requirements with our manufacturing partners.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to prevent and eliminate defects in new and existing products or improve current designs related to function, performance and safety.
  • Support design transfer to manufacturing personnel by maintaining records of communication, accepting or rejecting design and manufacturing proposals, and attending web-based meetings to ensure proper fabrication. 
  • Study engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technological changes and developments in industry.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
  • Experience in a design role is a plus.
  • Experience in design and drafting with CAD (SolidWorks pref) is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with PDM, PLM, GD&T, DFM and Welding Standards is a plus.
  • CSWA is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365.
