Mechanical Product Design Engineer

What does a successful Mechanical Product Design Engineer do at Fiserv? You'll help design our smart payment terminals and POS devices that enable our merchants to process billions of dollars worth of transactions. Reliability and security are critical, but we also need to build new innovative features for POS/payment devices.

What you will do:

  • Product Design based on ID specifications

  • Create detailed apart break out

  • Tolerance analysis, 2D drawings, DFM, Manufacturing support

  • Working with factory to develop SOP

  • ME issues tracking

  • Work with Reliability team to develop test plans

  • Testing and addressing reliability issues

  • Manage cad databases

What you will need to have:

  • BS/MS ME

  • 5+ years consumer products design experience

  • Must have strong ME fundamentals and strong track record of shipping products

  • Drive ODM to deliver product that meets or exceeds the industrial design and product specification.

  • Must have hands-on experience in design, prototype and manufacturing support

  • Must have experience designing high volume products from beginning to end and managing offshore ODMs and suppliers.

  • Must have experience designing mechanical components-specifically injection molded parts, sheet-metal components, die-casting and machined parts

  • Cad Tools: Proficient in part modelling and 2D drawings required, preferably with Creo

  • Having basic knowledge of performing FA and TA.

  • Position will require international travel.

  • Demonstrated experience taking products from concept to high volume production:

  • Leveraging manufacturers in the US and overseas.

  • transferring new products from Engineering to Production.

What would be great to have:

  • The ideal candidate is someone from a consumer electronics background who has designed high volume, highly cosmetic, and reliable products.

  • Physical security design experience is a plus, but not a must

Salary Range

$124,800.00 - $187,200.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in Sunnyvale, California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
