Demand Planner III (Supply & Demand Planning)

Company: Russell Tobin (supporting a leading global technology company)
Location: Hybrid onsite in Austin , TX
Job Type: 6-Month W2 Contract Schedule:  40 hours/week
Pay Rate: $50-$52/hour (depending on experience)

About the Role

Russell Tobin is partnering with a leading global technology organization to hire a Demand Planner III for a 6-month W2 contract. This role is ideal for a highly analytical and execution-oriented supply chain professional with experience in supply and demand planning, inventory allocation, forecasting, and cross-functional operations planning.

The Demand Planner III will help ensure optimal product availability across a global distribution network by balancing supply and demand, supporting operational and financial goals, and collaborating with stakeholders across planning, operations, finance, procurement, and distribution teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage supply and demand plans that support quarterly operational and revenue objectives.

  • Create and execute weekly allocation plans across multiple distribution channels and regional planning teams.

  • Analyze backlog, open orders, inventory availability, and supply constraints to support customer commitments and fill rate targets.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Finance, Procurement, Regional Planning, and external partners to align supply planning and execution.

  • Monitor key planning metrics, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend data-driven solutions.

  • Support inventory optimization and supply execution across distribution centers and partner networks.

  • Drive process improvements related to planning tools, reporting, workflows, and operational efficiency.

  • Contribute to new product introduction (NPI) planning activities and other strategic supply chain initiatives.

  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports using SAP, Excel, and other reporting tools.

  • Independently manage routine planning activities while escalating complex issues as needed.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, demand planning, supply planning, operations, procurement, finance, consulting, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated experience managing supply and demand planning activities, inventory allocation, forecasting, and order fulfillment execution.

  • Experience supporting quarterly planning cycles, revenue plans, order cycle time goals, and fill rate targets.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and drive actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Experience working in a matrixed and global organization.

  • Proven ability to manage ambiguity and execute multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, reporting).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools.

  • Knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) planning and operational readiness.

  • Experience with business process improvement, workflow optimization, or supply chain transformation initiatives.

  • Familiarity with global distribution center operations and inventory execution across multiple regions.

  • MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
