We are seeking a skilled and proactive Global Demand Planner to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our supply chain operations and ensuring that our products meet customer demands efficiently. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze historical sales data, market trends, and other relevant factors to develop accurate demand forecasts for one of our business units. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Business Units, Product Management, Customer Service and Operations, to align forecasts with inventory management and production planning.
This role reports to Global Demand Planning Manager and is based in Plano, Texas.

As part of the Demand Planning team, you will:

  • Leads and contributes to cross-functional initiatives for optimizing customer on-time delivery, lead-time, inventory, stocking plans, resource utilization, and forecast accuracy.
  • Collaborates and drive consensus on demand forecasts with cross-functional groups in the end-to-end supply chain management.
  • Responsible for assembling and analyzing data by creating an unconstrained demand plan across multiple product lines for your responsible business unit. Provide demand insights at monthly demand review meetings with Commercial Sales, Finance and Ops.
  • Build and maintain statistical forecast models and provide forecast baseline in long-term (18 - 24 months).
  • Develop and maintain metric dashboard in Excel and automate in Power BI.
  • Provide guidance on global demand for specific products and assist with consolidation of the worldwide demand plan on multiple manufacturing locations which include revenue projections, inventory, new product introduction and product life cycle
  • Creates and maintains rolling 18-24 months unconstrained demand forecasts for assigned products.
  • Reviewing and improving forecast accuracy both at the aggregate product line and individual product levels by identifying key root causes for forecast errors while implementing initiatives to improve future forecast accuracy and measuring results.
  • Working with Product Management team to coordinate new product launches, phase outs and platform changes etc. and incorporate them into the demand plan.
  • Support monthly supply review by creating monthly demand plan by unit/revenue/COGS to each manufacture facility.
  • Perform standard and ad hoc detailed analysis for planning metrics and identify root causes for non-performance and drive improvement initiatives.
  • Continuously enhance demand planning processes and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency, contributing to the overall growth and success of the organization.
  • Ensures the activities follow and comply with Power Conversion's company core values, health, safety, environmental and sustainability policies.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS/BA or equivalent degree from an accredited university in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in Planning, Master Scheduling, Purchasing or related field.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Proven experience as a Demand Planner or in a similar forecasting and planning role within a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable with iterative, hypothesis-driven analysis.
  • Action-oriented and resilient.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Advanced degree is a plus
  • Knowledge of forecast impacts within MRP functions and forecasting consumption
  • Expertise with SAP IBP desired
  • Experience in ERP systems with knowledge in inventory management, Demand and Production Planning, and Material Master
  • Experience and knowledge with data visualization tools (Power BI)
  • Expertise with MS Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, and Power Query strongly desired
  • Expertise with R and Python
  • Strong understanding of Inventory Management principles, Supply Chain processes, and Production Planning.
  • Certifications: APICS CPIM, CSCP or ISM CPSM desirable
