Job description

We are seeking Software Developers and Data Analysts with at least two years of experience in website coding, basic graphics techniques, Structured Query Language (SQL), Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), and Extensible Markup Language (XML).
The Senior .NET Core Developer will be a key contributor to the development and maintenance of SENTINEL, a web-based application used to track counterintelligence related entities and their relationships. This role requires an exceptional developer with deep expertise in .NET Core, C#, and related technologies.
This work supports on-going Army modernization efforts to bring cutting edge technologies to CI and HUMINT operations. Developers on this program work closely with analysts and geospatial engineers to develop application support to dynamic operations through cloud based databasing and collaboration.
Work Schedule:
M-F 8 hours with the ability to flex schedules, core hours on contract are 9am - 3pm
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Software Development:
    • Develop new, cutting-edge software solutions for SENTINEL utilizing strong C# programming skills.
    • Maintain and enhance existing functionality within the SENTINEL application.
    • Contribute to the design and architecture of new features and components.
  • .NET Core Application Development:
    • Develop enterprise-level web applications utilizing .NET Core, Razor Pages, Dependency Injection, Web APIs, and HTTP request/response handling.
  • Data Management:
    • Utilize Entity Framework (EF) Core, Code First, Migrations, and LINQ syntax to manage data interactions with SQL Server, including data insertion, querying, updating, and deletion.
  • Development Environment & Tools:
    • Daily use of Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio for bug fixing and new functionality development.
    • Daily use of Azure DevOps and Git for source code management, version control, and collaboration.
  • Database Administration & Optimization:
    • Utilize a strong understanding of SQL Server and relational database principles to create, modify, and delete database objects.
    • Troubleshoot and address database performance issues.
  • Front-End Development:
    • Possess exceptional JavaScript development skills.
    • Implement AJAX calls, form validation, DOM manipulation, and interactivity using JavaScript.
    • Style web applications utilizing CSS and UI layout frameworks such as Bootstrap 5 to create visually appealing and consistent user interfaces.
  • Collaboration & Mentorship:
    • Collaborate with other developers, analysts, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
    • Potentially mentor junior developers and share knowledge.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field and 12 years' relevant experience; with a portion of the experience within the last 2 years, or
  • Bachelor's degree and 14 years of relevant experience, or
  • Associate degree and 16 years of relevant, or
  • High school diploma and 20 years of relevant experience.

  • Qualified at Information Assurance Technical Workforce Requirement Level II as defined in DoD 8570.01-M, Table C3.T1.
  • Skilled in data visualization and use of graphical applications, including Microsoft Office (Power BI) and Tableau; major data science languages, such as R and Python; managing and merging of disparate data sources, preferably through R, Python, or SQL; statistical analysis; and data mining algorithms.
  • 10+ years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on .NET technologies.
  • .NET Core Expertise: Deep understanding and practical experience with .NET Core development.
  • C# Proficiency: Exceptional C# programming skills with a thorough understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
  • EF Core & SQL Server: Extensive experience with Entity Framework Core, Code First, Migrations, and SQL Server.
  • JavaScript & Front-End Technologies: Solid understanding of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap).
  • DevOps Proficiency: Proficient with Azure DevOps and Git for source control, CI/CD, and collaboration.
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

Security Clearance Required:
Current Top Secret//SCI required
Minimum Education:
HS Diploma with years of experience supplementing education/ bachelor's degree in relevant field or 22 years of relevant experience (flexible)

  • Experience using Team Foundation Server (TFS), Azure DevOps and/or Git as a source control repository and understand branching and merging concepts
  • Understanding of SQL Server, understanding of relational database principles in general and the ability to create, modify and delete database objects (i.e. tables, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers, etc)
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript development (i.e. general JavaScript knowledge, JQuery, etc)
  • Knowledge of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and UI layout frameworks (i.e. Bootstrap, Flexbox, etc)
  • Understanding of using LINQ and Entity Core (EF) to insert, query and update data in SQL Server
  • Ability to troubleshoot SQL Server performance issues to identify bottlenecks, poor performing queries, etc
  • Experience reverse engineering legacy source code to implement priority bug fixes and enhancement requests
  • Working knowledge of IIS and Web application deployments
