What are we looking for?

The Associate Software Developer is responsible for contributing to the development, maintenance and enhancement of our software applications. You will craft high-quality features and provide our clients with the best support in the industry, working closely with experienced developers and cross-functional teams to gain hands-on experience across the full software development lifecycle. This position provides an excellent opportunity for career development and growth in the software development field

What you'll do:

  • Produce clean, well-documented, high-quality code - applying coding standards, design patterns, and best practices - and continuously improve the technical health of the codebase.
  • Ensure quality through automated testing and TDD, code reviews, defect identification and bug fixes, and assisting QA with reported issues to meet user story requirements and quality standards.
  • Actively engage with the scrum team: collaborate on technical solution design, provide story-level estimates, meet commitments, ask questions, and raise concerns and risks early.
  • Communicate and document effectively - demo functionality to stakeholders and maintain documentation of technical specifications, system architecture, and processes.
  • Grow and support the team: learn and apply development processes under guidance of experienced developers, stay current with industry trends, fulfill your role in incident response, and complete all assigned annual training.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of software development experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with one of Angular, PHP (Laravel), JavaScript, and TypeScript
  • Knowledge of relational database concepts.
  • Experience with SQL, JSON, and web services.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Docker, and MySQL.
  • Experience with GitHub or similar version control systems.
  • This is a remote position; however, applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States. 

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Degree or coursework in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience with UX/UI design fundamentals.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools.
