Job Summary:

The Recovery Specialist II/Residential Counselor II is an evolution of the basic, Recovery Specialist I/Residential Counselor I position. Recovery Specialist II/Residential Counselor II staff is expected to continue to fulfill all expectations of a Recovery Specialist I/RC I. In addition to those expectations, the Recovery Specialist II/Residential Counselor II will take more of a leadership role and focus on medication room compliance. To participate in the development of reasonable limits and structure for each person served and to implement these limits on a daily basis in the residence and community in a fair and consistent manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain direct supportive contact with residents to continually asses their individual needs
  • To transport clients to appointments as needed
  • Acquire and maintain necessary certifications mandated by the Agency and licensing standards
  • Facilitate treatment groups
  • Develop strong, supportive relationships with clients, providing for their safety and care
  • Collaborate with other departments in settings where care must be coordinated between medical, MAT, and psychiatric and behavioral needs

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in human service field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with psychiatric clients preferred.
  • Must have availability of an automobile to transport clients or perform other supportive services as necessary.
  • Bilingual Preferred (Spanish/English)
