Job description

About the Role

We are a growing software company headquartered in Charlotte, NC, seeking a Customer Success Manager (CSM) to own the post-sale relationship for a portfolio of B2B SaaS customers. As a CSM, you will serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for your accounts, driving product adoption, customer satisfaction, retention, and expansion. You will partner closely with Sales, Product, and Support to ensure customers achieve measurable value from our platform throughout their lifecycle — from onboarding through renewal.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the full post-sale customer lifecycle for an assigned book of business, including onboarding, adoption, renewal, and expansion
  • Lead new customer onboarding and implementation kickoffs, establishing success criteria, timelines, and stakeholder alignment
  • Conduct regular business reviews (QBRs/EBRs) with customer stakeholders and executives, presenting adoption metrics, ROI, and strategic recommendations
  • Monitor account health using product usage data, health scores, and customer feedback; proactively identify and mitigate churn risk
  • Drive product adoption through training, best-practice guidance, and enablement resources tailored to each customer''s goals
  • Own gross revenue retention for your portfolio and partner with Sales on upsell and cross-sell opportunities to drive net revenue retention
  • Serve as the voice of the customer internally, channeling feedback to Product and advocating for roadmap priorities
  • Manage escalations end-to-end, coordinating with Support and Engineering to resolve issues and communicate transparently with customers
  • Maintain accurate account records, success plans, and forecasts in CRM and Customer Success platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Gainsight, ChurnZero)
  • Contribute to the development of Customer Success playbooks, processes, and scalable programs as the team grows

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Customer Success, Account Management, or a related client-facing role, preferably in B2B SaaS.
  • Proven track record of managing a portfolio of accounts and hitting retention and/or expansion targets.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to map product capabilities to customer outcomes and ROI.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting to director- and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Comfortable interpreting product usage data and translating it into actionable account strategies.
  • Experience with CRM and CS tooling (Salesforce, HubSpot, Gainsight, ChurnZero, Catalyst, or similar).
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and able to manage competing priorities across multiple accounts.
  • Bachelor''s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a high-growth or startup SaaS environment.
  • Familiarity with renewal negotiation and commercial conversations.
  • Experience building or improving Customer Success processes, playbooks, or health-score models.
  • Technical aptitude with APIs, integrations, or SaaS implementation concepts.
