This role is a full-time associate position. Participation in the program requires that you are located in the continental United States with in-person attendance at your assigned location, in accordance with Capital Oneโ€™s hybrid working model. In this role, you will have primary accountability for analyzing business and personal financial conditions to evaluate credit worthiness and prepare detailed recommendations for exposure decisions. You will assess financial statements and additional data to understand revenues, profitability, cashflow, sustainability, and overall risks. You will present your decisions to senior approvers, to field sales, partners, and directly to clients.

General Responsibilities
  • Make credit recommendations on cases up to $1M exposure
  • Assess business financial performance against policy guardrails
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal communication, and writing skills
  • Conduct business interviews to understand client business model, sources of revenue, merchant spend, future projections, market competitiveness, and industry risks
  • Prepare clear, concise analysis supporting credit memos that recommend decisions and address rationale for any deviations from credit policy, procedures and guidelines
  • Identify and mitigate key credit risks
  • Request additional business and personal information to address key identified risks
  • Demonstrate exceptional service in all interactions with clients and partners
  • Monitor portfolio performance to identify trends and alignment to expectations
  • Adhere to all applicable regulations and the expected execution standards

Basic Qualifications
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelorโ€™s degree or higher with an expectation that you will complete your most recent full-time degree program by May 2027 or earlier.

  • The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
  • Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
  • McLean, VA: $81,700 - $93,300 for Commercial Credit Analyst
  • Richmond, VA: $74,200 - $84,700 for Commercial Credit Analyst
  • Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidateโ€™s offer letter.
  • This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
