Job description

Position Summary

As a Marketing/Communications team member, the Creative Director ensures that Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council’s (GSACPC) brand story is told in a compelling, consistent and visually engaging way. The role oversees the creative vision and execution for campaigns, digital content, print materials, and multimedia storytelling that emphasizes diversity and amplifies girls' voices. This hands-on role leads the creative development process and manages a talented graphic designer. Additionally, the Creative Director ensures that all work produced aligns with GSUSA guidelines and maintains a consistent brand vision to enhance awareness and support organizational goals.


Reports to: Sr. Director, Marketing and Communications

Supervisor to: Creative Graphic Design Manager

FLSA Status: Regular full-time, exempt

Brand: Visual Identity

  • Lead the development of engaging multimedia content for brand awareness, signature campaigns, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Ensure all creative assets, campaigns and brand experiences are cohesive and align with GSACPC’s brand values.
  • Ensure consistency in branding, messaging, and storytelling across all platforms.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications, Digital Marketing Manager and council leaders to translate strategic objectives into compelling creative assets.
  • Join Marcom team members in enhancing and expanding the Girl Scout Media Ambassador program.
  • Proactively stay informed of and leverage GSUSA plans, assets, and resources. Use internal gsConnect system and participate and follow up on assigned webinars and trainings.

Leadership and Inspiration

  • Lead and mentor a direct report to foster innovation and maintain high standards of creativity and quality.
  • Provide clear direction, feedback, and support to ensure high-quality output and professional growth.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and innovation within the MarCom team.

Creative Production & Oversight

  • Produce photos and videos for signature GSACPC events, campaigns and programs.
  • Produce the girl-led podcast, Dear Sister.
  • Oversee the development of print, digital, and video assets, ensuring high-quality execution.
  • Manage the visual identity and creative direction for each issue of Girl Scout Connections magazine.
  • Maintain brand guidelines and ensure adherence across all departments.
  • Ensure an inclusive and multicultural perspective is present in creative assets (recruitment collateral, social media content, videos, podcasts, and photography).
  • Work with external vendors, contract workers, and agencies when needed.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in film, digital photography, graphic design, marketing, or related field and 5+ years of professional creative experience.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in photography, videography and/or design.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, and video production.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and adapt to a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, strong grammar and proofing ability, familiar with AP style.
  • Ability to adopt editorial and brand guidelines and implement with consistency and high level of attention to detail.
  • Familiar with a variety of project management concepts, practices, and procedures. Demonstrated ability to build plans, timelines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress. Proficiency with project management software and planning tools, such as Freshdesk, Smartsheet, Microsoft Teams, etc., preferred.
  • Must be computer literate (working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Experience with measurement, analyzing data and reporting/implementing learnings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES
  • Able to lift 25+ lbs., sit at a computer for three consecutive hours, stand for 2+ hours/day, climb stairs daily.
