Position: Lead Accountant, Affiliates - Full Time/Exempt
Department: Accounting & Finance
Reports to: Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting, Affiliates
Location: Arizona Cardinals (Tempe, AZ) NOTE: Starting 2028, this role will be based at the new Arizona Cardinals Training Facility in north Phoenix, AZ.

Job Summary:
The Lead Accountant, Affiliates will oversee the day-to-day operations in Financial Accounting for the various affiliate companies of the Arizona Cardinals Football Club, primarily Craft Culinary Concepts. This includes managing tasks to produce timely periodic financial reports, maintaining an adequate system of accounting records and reconciliations of the company's reported financial results, balance sheets, and ensuring that reported results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Primary Job Duties:
The Lead Accountant, Affiliates will have the daily responsibilities including, without limitation, to the following:
  • Prepare and post journal entries for Cardinal's affiliate companies including Cash, Revenue, Recurring, Payroll, Inventory, Game Day, Reclassification, G&A Allocation, etc.
  • Prepare monthly commission statements for all affiliate companies
  • Review & add new general ledger accounts as necessary
  • Compile ad hoc daily/weekly/monthly reports and reconciliations
  • Assist in annual revenue and financial audits
  • Prepare monthly sales tax filings
  • Maintain documentation of detailed desk procedures
  • Own streamlining and automating month end close processes
  • Support banking functions and shared services (AP) as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned and take lead on special projects
  • Reconcile all trial balance accounts for multiple entities
  • Perform full monthly P&L variance analysis for multiple entities
  • Support and collaborate on financial matters with the operations leaders of multiple entities
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (or equivalent experience), CPA preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum five (5) years of accounting experience with working knowledge of recording journal entries and preparing reconciliations
  • Experience: Experience simultaneously supporting consolidated companies with multiple entities (3+) and
  • Experience: Experience reconciling all trial balance accounts (assets, liabilities, and equity)
  • Must have a strong concept of general accounting processes and practices
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Experience in Food & Beverage preferred
  • Experience performing full monthly P&L variance analysis is required
  • Experience with Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics), and Excel Interfacing Software preferred
  • Experience streamlining and automating accounting processes is a plus
  • Strong analytical, technical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills, strong verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities that require strong project management, decision-making capabilities, and flexibility
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; hours may vary depending on business needs
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment screening, including a background check
